WHAT IS HYALURONIDASE TREATMENT?

Hyaluronic acid is a popular substance used in aesthetic medicine treatments, especially in lip or face modelling treatments. However, sometimes it happends that the patients are not satisfied with the obtained effects. The answer to their problem is hyaluronidase. 

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme found naturally in the human body. In aesthetic medicine, it is used as a preparation that dissolves the previously administered hyaluronic acid. 

Hyaluronidase may be a necessity resulting from the occurrence of complications after treatments with hyaluronic acid. It may also be a remedy for the patients who are dissatisfied with the previously obtained treatment effects.

The preparation containing the hyaluronidase enzyme is introduced with a needle or cannula into the sites where hyaluronic acid was previously administered. To reduce any discomfort, the treatment is performed under local anaesthesia. 

The sensations during the treatment are an individual issue dependent on the patient's pain threshold. The use of the preparation with hyaluronidase may cause discomfort, which is comparable to that during modeling treatments with hyaluronic acid. Therefore, in order to reduce it, local anaesthesia in the form of anesthetic cream is used. 

After the treatment, the skin may be painful, there may be swelling, discomfort or slight bruising. Symptoms should resolve within a few days after the treatment.
