Acne treatment

Acne is a chronic skin disease. Associated with adolescence, in fact it affects people of all ages. The cause of acne is excessive production of sebum by the sebaceous glands. A mixture of lipid substances clogs the pores, which in turn leads to the formation of a number of lesions accompanying acne.

Apart from acne vulgaris, which is the most common skin condition of adolescence, we can distinguish also acne rosacea. It is manifested by severe, permanent reddening of the face. It is a chronic inflammatory disease - at an advanced stage, it causes characteristic papules and fine pustules. Acne rosacea most often affects women over the age of 30. A capillary skin constitutes a predisposition for this condition.

Acne treatment is always determined individually by a dermatologist. The doctor takes into account not only the type of disease, but also its severity and skin type. In addition to topical treatment with creams, lotions, retinoids, etc., it may be necessary to use oral drugs, including antibiotics that reduce inflammation, or laser therapy.
Aesthetic medicine clinics offer various types of treatments - not only laser therapy, but also various chemical peelings. They act through removal of the outer layer of the skin, which helps to remove the resulting skin lesions and reduce sebum production.
