HOW DOES THE THULIUM LASER WORK?

Thulium laser [Lavieen] is a laser using thulium technology, where the power source is thulium - a rare element of the lanthanide series.

The operation of the thulium laser allows to operate in a fractional system, using three modes: ablative, non-ablative and subablative. As a result, simultaneous action on both the surface of the skin and deeper layers of the skin is possible during a single treatment session. 

 

Thanks to the used technology, a thulium laser has a wide range of applications in rejuvenating treatments, as well as reducing various skin imperfections.

The frequency of treatment is individual and it is determined on the basis of various factors (e.g. performed treatment, severity of the problem, individual characteristics of the patient). Usually, the treatment may be repeated after about 4-6 weeks.

Face treatments with a thulium laser are recommended to be performed in the autumn and winter to minimize the risk of hyperpigmentation.
The treatments performed on parts of the body that are not exposed to sunlight may be performed all year after consultation with your doctor. In addition, the site where the treatment was performed should be protected from sunlight for one month after the treatment.

The sensations during the thulium laser treatment are an individual issue dependent on the patient's pain threshold. Treatments with the puse of a thulium laser may cause a slight feeling of discomfort, so in order to reduce it the treatment site is anesthetized immediately before the treatment.

The appearance of the skin depends on the parameters that will be used during treatment. Depending on the parameters, the skin may be severely dried, reddened, and a feeling of stretching of the skin may appear. A few days after the treatment, a gentle exfoliation of the skin may also appear.

It is not recommended to apply make-up immediately after the treatment. Make-up may be applied the day after the treatment, but the skin may be very dry.

Treatment effects, as well as the number of necessary treatments, depend on several factors: the severity of the problem, the type of treatment performed, as well as individual characteristics of the patient. The more advanced problem, the largest the number of necessary treatments. The usual recommended number is 3 treatments repeated every 3-4 weeks.

The time after which the treatment effects will be visible depends largely on individual factors, including the severity of the problem or the type of procedure performed.
Procedures used to reduce more advanced problems may need to be repeated according to the recommendations by your doctor.

It is best to resign from using swimming pool, going to trainings and sauna for about 3 days after treatment.

After the treatment, use gentle cleaning agents as well as strongly moisturising agents. In addition, the site where the treatment was performed should be protected from sunlight.
